Battersea Arts Centre
At House of Oz, we were delighted to support The Art of Mini Golf at Battersea Arts Centre. It was part contemporary art exhibition and part fully playable mini golf course, with nine holes designed by leading women artists from around the world. Commissioned by RISING Melbourne and curated by Grace Herbert, it ran at Battersea Arts Centre from 17 June to 26 July 2026.
Australian artists
Australian connections ran through the whole project, and we were especially proud to champion two of the artists behind it.
Kaylene Whiskey: A two-time Archibald finalist, her vibrant style puts strong women (kungka kunpu) at its heart. Her work weaves pop icons through traditional Anangu culture. Her hole, Ananyi – Travelling, drew on her memories of Greyhound bus road trips as a young girl.
Pat Brassington: A prolific Hobart-based photographer and artist, Brassington is known for images that sit just beyond the edge of the everyday. Her hole, Faceoff, brought that unsettling sensibility to the putting green.
Their holes sat alongside work by Miranda July, Delaine Le Bas, Saeborg, Natasha Tontey, Soda Jerk, BKTHERULA with Kate Miller, and Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, whose new commission was part of the UK premiere.
BAC has a long record of nurturing artists and bringing communities together, and we were thrilled to help make this one possible.
Thank you to everyone who came and played.
