edinburgh fringe 2027 show submission
1. About the Submission
House of Oz is inviting Australian artists and creatives to submit their work for the opportunity to join the House of Oz programme at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2027 (the “Submission”).
One show will be selected to join the House of Oz programme and receive the support package described below (the “Selected Show”).
The Submission is operated by House of Oz Ltd, 124 Finchley Road, London, NW3 5JS (“House of Oz”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By submitting an application, applicants confirm that they have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
To be eligible to submit:
The show must be created by at least one Australian passport holder. The creator may currently live anywhere in the world.
The submitted show must have a running time of 60 minutes or less.
Submissions are welcome across genres, including but not limited to theatre, comedy, circus, cabaret, music, dance, children’s work and spoken word.
The applicant and all performers and essential company members required to present the show must be available to participate in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for the whole of August 2027, including any reasonably required get-in, technical, rehearsal and performance dates.
Where a production includes performers under 18, the applicant must be able to meet all relevant licensing, safeguarding and chaperone requirements.
Applicants must have the authority to submit the show and to enter into an agreement relating to its presentation at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2027 on behalf of all relevant creators, performers and rights holders.
House of Oz reserves the right to request evidence that an applicant or production meets the eligibility requirements.
3. How to Submit
Submissions must be made using the official House of Oz application form and must include all information requested in that form, including a video link demonstrating the submitted work.
Submissions must be received by 9:00pm AEST on 1st December 2026.

Submissions received after the deadline may not be considered.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted is complete and accurate and that any links supplied remain accessible throughout the selection period.
There is no fee to submit.
4. What We Are Looking For
House of Oz welcomes work from across genres and is looking for shows demonstrating inventive ideas, exceptional writing and/or thrilling creativity.
Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee selection.
5. Selection Process
Eligible submissions will be reviewed by House of Oz.
The Selected Show will be chosen following consideration of the submitted materials and House of Oz's programming criteria.
House of Oz may contact applicants during the selection process to request further information, materials, meetings or conversations about their production.
The selected applicant will be contacted using the details supplied in their submission by 4th December 2026.
If the selected applicant does not respond within 14 days, cannot demonstrate that they meet the eligibility requirements, or is unable to accept the opportunity on the terms offered, House of Oz reserves the right to select another show.
House of Oz's selection decision is final. House of Oz is not obliged to provide individual feedback to applicants who are not selected.
6. The House of Oz Package
Subject to these Terms & Conditions and the final agreement entered into with the Selected Show, House of Oz intends to provide a fully funded package supporting the Selected Show's participation in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2027.
The package includes:
Return economy flights to and from Australia to the UK only.
Accommodation in Edinburgh from technical rehearsals until 1 September for the agreed touring party.
Agreed technical costs associated with presenting the show.
Edinburgh Festival Fringe registration fees.
One large-format poster campaign, inclusion in the House of Oz compendium guide and compendium poster.
Social media marketing.
Printed materials such as flyers.
Support from a dedicated PR representative.
Visa or immigration costs (Electronic Travel Authorisation costs).
The precise arrangements, suppliers, schedules, budgets and scope of the package will be determined by House of Oz in consultation with the Selected Show.
No cash alternative will be offered and unused elements of the package cannot be exchanged for cash.
7. Travel and Participation
The Selected Show and its company are responsible for ensuring that all travelling members hold valid passports, permissions, insurance or other documentation required to travel to and perform in the United Kingdom.
The Selected Show must comply with all applicable laws and regulations and with the rules, policies and requirements of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, House of Oz and the relevant performance venue.
House of Oz will work with the Selected Show to agree performance and production arrangements. The Selected Show must make reasonable efforts to comply with agreed rehearsal, technical, publicity and performance schedules.
8. Rights and Permissions
Applicants retain ownership of their work and intellectual property.
By submitting, applicants confirm that they have all rights and permissions necessary to submit the work and for House of Oz to view and assess the materials supplied as part of the submission.
Applicants must ensure that their production does not knowingly infringe the copyright, intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any third party.
If selected, the applicant will be required to grant House of Oz the permissions reasonably necessary to promote and present the production as part of its Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2027 programme. This includes permission to use the show's title, production images, artwork, trailers, extracts and the names and likenesses of participating artists for promotional and publicity purposes.
The detailed rights and permissions applying to the Selected Show will be set out in the final participation agreement.
9. Publicity
The Selected Show will be asked to participate in reasonable promotional activity connected with House of Oz and Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2027, including interviews, photography, filming, social media and press activity.
House of Oz may announce the Selected Show publicly and use information and approved promotional materials supplied by the applicant in connection with the Submission and the House of Oz programme.
10. Changes to the Show
The submission should accurately represent the show proposed for Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2027.
House of Oz understands that creative work may continue to develop. However, significant changes to the show's concept, creative team, cast, running time or technical requirements following selection must be discussed with and approved by House of Oz.
If a material change means that the production no longer meets the eligibility or programming requirements of the Submission, House of Oz reserves the right to withdraw the offer.
11. Withdrawal and Cancellation
Applicants may withdraw their submission at any point before selection by contacting gday@houseofoz.co.uk.
If selected, the applicant must notify House of Oz as soon as reasonably possible if circumstances arise that may prevent the show from participating.
House of Oz reserves the right to amend, postpone, suspend or cancel the Submission or elements of the Edinburgh programme where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary, including changes to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, venue availability, travel restrictions, government requirements or other events beyond House of Oz's reasonable control.
Where possible, House of Oz will seek to provide reasonable notice of any material changes.
12. Applicant Information and Data
Personal information submitted as part of the Submission will be used for the administration and assessment of the Submission and, where relevant, for arrangements relating to participation in the House of Oz programme.
Information may be shared with relevant House of Oz staff, contractors and partners where necessary for these purposes.
When you submit, you will be added to the House of Oz mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. We will contact you about your Submission regardless of your mailing list preferences.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with House of Oz's Privacy Policy.
13. Accuracy and Conduct
Applicants must provide truthful and accurate information.
House of Oz reserves the right to disqualify a submission or withdraw an offer if:
information supplied in a submission is materially false or misleading;
the applicant does not meet the eligibility requirements;
the applicant does not hold the necessary rights or permissions relating to the submitted work;
the applicant or Selected Show materially breaches these Terms & Conditions or any subsequent participation agreement; or
circumstances arise that make the production unable to participate as proposed.
14. General
Selection through the Submission is subject to the selected applicant entering into any further agreement reasonably required by House of Oz in connection with participation in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2027 programme.
If there is any conflict between these Submission Terms & Conditions and the final participation agreement for the Selected Show, the final participation agreement will take precedence in relation to the show's participation in the programme.
House of Oz reserves the right to make reasonable amendments to these Terms & Conditions where necessary. Any material changes affecting applicants will be communicated appropriately.
